A Little Bit of Wrath: Kendra Steps Into Hollow Wrath

There’s something about bringing a favorite book to life that makes a photography session feel a little more magical.

A little darker.

A little more dangerous.

For Kendra’s session, we stepped straight into the world of Hollow Wrath by Jodie King — and she completely transformed into the character she came to portray.

Dark romance, haunting details, a little mystery, and just enough danger to make things interesting.

The goal was to create images that felt like they belonged inside the pages of the book rather than simply looking like a traditional cosplay session. Moody, dramatic, powerful, and a little bit wicked.

And Kendra absolutely brought the attitude.

Behind the camera, though?

Well… that's where things got considerably less mysterious.

There was a LOT of laughing.

And because apparently we decided that wandering through the Kentucky wilderness was the perfect setting for dark romance, we also had one very important recurring concern:

The snakes.

Kendra is terrified of snakes, so naturally every suspicious patch of grass required investigation. Every rustle was questionable. Every stick was potentially guilty.

Nothing says dark and mysterious heroine quite like stopping mid-photoshoot to ask, “DO YOU THINK THERE ARE SNAKES HERE?” 😂

But somehow, between the laughter, the snake patrol, and the occasional moment of wondering what exactly we'd gotten ourselves into, we created some seriously cinematic images.

That's what I love about sessions like this.

Photography doesn't always have to be about perfectly posed smiles and traditional portraits. Sometimes it's about stepping into another world. Becoming someone else for a little while. Creating something dramatic, unusual, and completely you.

And when that world happens to involve dark romance, dangerous characters, and a little bit of chaos?

Even better.

Kendra, thank you for trusting me to bring your Hollow Wrath vision to life. Getting to photograph someone portraying a character from a book they genuinely love is such a unique experience, and this session was every bit as fun behind the scenes as it was beautiful in front of the camera.

Beautifully dark.

A little dangerous.

And absolutely worth checking the grass for snakes.
